The Charmeuse dress is recognizable by its emblematic structured ruffles on the hem which are reinforced with horsehair to contrast the fluidity of the handmade draperies. The hem of the ruffles are slightly frayed, like the edges of archives Haute Couture dresses, which used to be finished by hand stitching. The ancestral Japanese know-how, the pure water from their rivers and the weather conditions, produce the unique subtle textured effect on this super thin, sensual and fluid satin fabric.
